Film in Brighton

A photo of the outside the Duke of York Picturehouse in Brighton.

Whether you want the latest blockbuster or the ultimate in art house, Brighton cinemas offer a fantastic range of films across the city every day of the week.

With two multiplex cinemas – one at Brighton Marina and another in the heart of the city, you can be guaranteed of all the latest filmic fare.

Or for the very best in arthouse, the Duke Of York's Picturehouse is a real treat and one of the oldest working cinemas in the country.

Brighton also offers an annual film festival, CINE-CITY, which celebrates the moving image every October, with a mix of premieres, previews, classics and home-grown digital adventures.

Brighton & Hove also has an impressive cinematic history of its own. A mecca for film production during the Edwardian era, as well as the location for movies including Quadrophenia and Brighton Rock, you can find out more about the city's celluloid past with our Brighton Film Locations Podcast or on the Film City Brighton website.
